As a key member of the Leadership Team, the Program Director plays an essential role in shaping the quality and direction of Communitas programs. This is a position for someone who enjoys building strong relationships with staff, persons served, families, funders, and community partners, and who thrives on seeing the big picture while ensuring the details fall into place.
Guided by the Communitas Vision, Mission and Values, the Program Director supports program managers, promotes continuous quality improvement, and ensures that services remain person-centred, safe, and aligned with all regulatory and organizational standards. This role involves developing program policies, supporting staff teams, contributing to new program proposals, and representing Communitas with professionalism and care in the broader community.
Working closely with the Chief Program Officer, the Program Director is someone who listens deeply, communicates clearly, and approaches challenges with curiosity, collaboration, and confidence. This role is ideal for a leader who takes pride in strengthening programs, supporting teams, and enhancing the culture of Communitas through thoughtful direction and meaningful relationships.
Here's what we need from you:
- Degree in Social Services or related field with an emphasis in Leadership or Social Work (Masters preferred)
- 2 plus years of management experience preferably in the social services sector
- A philosophy of service that is in line with Communitas’ Vision, Mission and Values
- High energy and highly motivated; able to take initiative with creativity
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills; strong organizational skills
- Advanced levels of written and verbal communication skills, required for report writing, etc.
- Proven conflict management skills, using an Honest, Direct and Respectful approach
- Ability to relate well to the public/constituency and represent Communitas in a positive and professional manner
- Demonstrated Emotional Intelligence
- Ability to work as a member of a team as well as being able to work independently
- Hours may involve long workdays and/or evening/weekend work

Salary:
