The Registered Psychiatric Nurse provides support to Topaz Place, First Avenue and the Managers of Care by overseeing assessments, care, recovery planning, medication administration, and treatments, while using nursing judgment in routine and emergency situations. It provides leadership to all Health Care Workers (HCWs) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to ensure high standards of care for persons served. Responsibilities may include 24/7 on-call availability, with duties performed in line with policies that respect the dignity, autonomy, and independence of the persons served.

Here's what we need from you:
- Current registration with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
- Adherence to the Standards of Practice in B.C. set by BCCNM
- Recent experience in related field is an asset
- A philosophy of service that is in line with Communitas’ Vision, Mission and Values
- Familiar with and able to implement ‘Spirit of Gentleness’ principles
- Current CPR C certificate
- Familiar with and able to implement Psychosocial Rehabilitation principles fostering a belief in the recovery process
- Sincere interest in supporting people who are aging
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to work as a member of a team as well as being able to work independently without supervision
- Ability to safely and efficiently operate all equipment associated with the duties of the position
- Ability to physically and emotionally carry out the duties of the position
